Hey guys! I hope all of you are well! So last week for three days, my family was out of town for a basketball tournament (all three of my brothers play). My youngest brother, who is about to turn nine in a couple weeks, is on a team who plays very, very well despite being so young, and they nearly made it to the championship game. It was so fun to watch them play, and I was so proud of my brother when he received a “medal”. The “medal” is actually a dog tag necklace with a verse on it, and my brother has been repeating the verse ever since he got the necklace. I decided to use that very verse! Take a look!
“Ask, and you shall receive; seek, and you shall find; knock, and the door will be open to you.” – Matthew 7:7
This has always been one of my favorite verses, and I’m happy that my brother has been committing it to memory lately. So what does this verse mean? I’m no scholar, but this is the way I read this verse. When we ask God for things, having faith that we will receive whatever we asked for, He will give it to us (assuming it is His Will). Maybe this verse is even saying when we ask for Him, we will receive Him. When we seek Him continuously, we will find Him. When we knock at His door, He will open that door to let us in.
I hope this encourages you to keep asking, seeking, and knocking after Him! We should always strive to want more of Him!
As always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
