Throwback Thursday 2/23/23

Hey guys! It’s time for the last Valentine’s Day-themed throwback! I don’t know why, but I had a little bit of a hard time choosing what to look back on this time, but at last, it is here! So far we’ve taken a look at Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Seasons of the Storm by Elle Cosimano, and Kingdom Hearts III. Now, it’s time for something new. Take a look!

That Time Link and Zelda’s Romance Was At The Forefront

In the Legend of Zelda series, Link and Zelda’s relationship changes depending on which game you play. In Twilight Princess, they had never met before. In Breath of the Wild, Link is Zelda’s bodyguard. However, In Skyward Sword, they have a bit of a pre-established relationship kinda thing going on. They grew up together from what I understand, and since Link gets bullied a lot, Zelda’s always standing up for him. It’s obvious pretty fast that Link has a serious crush on Zelda, and it seems like she likes him back. In fact, their blossoming relationship is a point in the game. They even have two different soundtracks titled “Romance Theme” and “Romance in the Air.” Just saying.

Obviously many fans root for the two to get together in every game, and Skyward Sword isn’t the only game that brought the two closes together. Breath of the Wild is another game in which there seemed to be more of a romance between the two of them, even though it seemed like Link was kind of preoccupied with Mipha (who was in love with him, and I think he liked her back). I’m curious to see where Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (or Breath of the Wild II) takes this.

What do you think about this? Let me know in the comments below! And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
