Throwback Thursday 2/9/23

Hey guys! It’s time for another throwback! Continuing the themed posts for the month, I’m going to be putting the spotlight on another romantic moment in fiction. Last week I did a video game, but this time I thought I would go with a book; one of my favorite books, to be exact. Take a look!

That Time Winter And Spring Fell In Love

I feel like I’m always talking about Seasons of the Storm by Elle Cosimano, but that’s because it’s just a really great book (I wish I could say the same for the second one, but we’re going to ignore that for now). It’s a Romeo and Juliet retelling, and the seasons are actual people. When a human dies, they have a chance to stay alive by becoming a season. The catch? Every time their season comes to an end, they must be killed by the season after them. They get to be brought back to life, but it’s not a fun cycle. Spring is supposed to kill Winter. But, as you might have guessed, Spring doesn’t like killing Winter. Jack and Fleur, who are Winter and Spring, fall in love even though that’s HIGHLY against the rules. To avoid punishment (and possibly death forever), they run away, along with Summer and Fall (who are also in love with each other).

I didn’t know what to expect from this book, but y’all- it was EXACTLY what I wanted. The road trip vibe was amazing, and the romance was exactly what I like to see. And, of course, it made me bawl my eyes out, which every good book seems to do to me, haha! I just have to recommend this book to everyone because it’s such a beautiful story! If you haven’t read it yet, I highly suggest that you do!

What do you think about this throwback? Let me know in the comments below! And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful rest of the week!
