Weekly Dose of Scripture 1/29/23

Hey guys! A while back, I mentioned that my bestie and I have been sending each other Bible verses every day and sharing our thoughts on them. For this week’s verse, I’m going to be doing another one that I sent a few days ago! This one has been on my mind a lot, not only because I feel like God made me recall it when I needed it most, but I’ve also been listening to a song that takes from the verse a lot lately (Jireh by Maverick City Music, please listen if you ever have the chance, it’s so beautiful!). Check it out!

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? – Matthew 6:26-30

As you might know, I’m currently enrolled in a university (UTSA). Lately I’ve been burdened a lot with how I’m going to pay for tuition, and it’s unfortunately something that causes me a little more stress the homework I have! I also often worry about the health of my family and friends. I struggle with feeling happy, because I always feel like disaster is right around the corner. But this is no way to live! If God takes care of the birds and the flowers, how much more will He care for you? You are a part of His creation. He literally sent His Son to die on a cross for you and me! He’s not going to forget about you. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it. He will provide for you! We all just need to have faith!

I hope this encourages you to take the step of faith and believe God will provide for you! As always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
