Quote of the Week 1/16/23

Hey guys! It’s time for another quote, and this time I’m heading to one of my favorite book series to get one! It was hard to pick which one to do because let me tell you: these books are full of some of the greatest quotes I’ve ever read. This man knows how to write! Check it out!

“Mortals fantasied that love was eternal and its loss unimaginable. Now we know neither is true. Love remained mortal, while we became eternal.” – Scythe (Neal Shusterman)

Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman is about how humanity has found immortality, and the consequences of that. As it turns out, immortality might not be all its cracked up to be. Throughout the book, we learn that art (whether it’s writing, paintings, etc.) has lost its emotion, people have lost their vigor, and life is just a game. This quote says a lot about the series, because we see it happen a lot in the book. As time goes on, love isn’t the same as it used to be. People get bored of other people when they’re around them for an eternity. See that was one of the most tragic things in the series. If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend it, because it’ll make you think twice about things like the influence of AI and immortality.

What do you think about this quote? Let me know in the comments below! And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
