Hey guys! For today’s post, I thought I’d knock out two things at once: a Blogmas post, and a Top Ten post! Since it is Blogmas, I wanted to do a Christmas-themed Top Ten, so I thought I’d go with counting down my favorite ornaments on my family’s tree. We’ve had some of these ornaments for a LONG time. Like, I remember putting some of these on the tree when I was really young. I took pictures of my ten favorites so y’all can see what they look like. See for yourself!
10. Christmas Dora and Boots
This might seem a little strange, but we’ve had these ornaments for as long as I can remember and they have always been some of my favorites. When I was really little, I LOVED Dora the Explorer, so I assume that’s why we got these ornaments. To this day, the Christmas episode still reminds me of being a kid, so that’s why these ornaments are still in my top ten favorites.
9. It’s A Wonderful Life
This is an ornament based on my favorite Christmas movie, It’s A Wonderful Life. If you can’t see what’s written on it, it says “No man is a failure who has friends,” which is also one of my most favorite lines in the movie. This ornament is also a bell, so it can make noise (obviously, haha!). It may be a more simple ornament, but I love it because of the meaning it holds.
8. My First Christmas
This is my first Christmas ornament. As you might be able to see on the ornament, I was born in 2001. This one’s a thick, glass ornament that looks so pretty with the lights shining on it, and this picture just doesn’t do it justice! It’s always bee one of my favorites, though I might be a little biased since it’s my baby ornament, haha!
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always loved this ornament! It’s very glittery, so it sparkles with all the Christmas lights! It’s a little beat up after so many years, but it still looks so pretty. As you might be able to tell as you read this list, I like sparkly things!
6. Snow Globe
I don’t think we’ve had this ornament as long as we’ve had most of the ones on this list, but it has been on our tree for quite some time. It’s pretty sparkly, and there’s little styrofoam balls in it to act as snow. It’s so cute!
5. Christmas Chicken
I love this ornament, and I actually had a tradition with those one. When I was a kid, my family, along with a couple other families in my homeschool group, would have a big Christmas party. Like, it was BIG party. A couple times we did an ornament exchange, and one year I ended up getting this ornament from my best friend’s dad. So now I always send a picture of it to my best friend every time I decorate the tree, because that memory makes me laugh. Even though that night was a long time ago, it still feels like yesterday!
4. Baby Mobile
I believe this is my oldest brother’s baby ornament. We’ve had this one for quite a while, and it’s always been one of my favorites to hang on the tree. I love the little charms on it! The heart in the center kinda looks like the door to the abyss or whatever because of the lighting in this picture, but I promise it just says “baby’s first Christmas” or something, haha!
I LOVE this ornament. Like, it almost got into second place, but I changed my mind at the last second. It’s a lovely shade of pink, and a little transparent to it sparkled in the light. As I said, I like sparkly things! When I first decided to write this post, I knew right away this would be on the list. I can’t get enough of this one!
2. Snowy Church
I found it funny this one got second place, because there for a minute, it almost didn’t get on the list at all. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized how much I love this one. We’ve had it for a really long time, and you know how I feel about sparkly things now, and this one is pretty sparkly with all that snow! This one is also a bigger ornament, and highly breakable. We take extra care with this one!
This one was a no-brainer. It might not look like much, but when I think of Christmas, I think of this ornament. There’s something about the colors of it that just remind me of Christmas when I was a kid. I mean, I can actually remember hanging this ornament on the tree when I was younger. There’s a certain nostalgia it gives me that the other ornaments don’t. For that reason (and because it’s a cute ornament in general), it’s my number one favorite!
That’s all! What do you think about these ornaments? Do you have any favorites on your tree? Let me know in the comments below! And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
