Happy Friday, y’all! We’ve come to Blogmas day 9, and it’s officially the start of my Christmas break! I’m glad for that, because I’m not sure how much longer I could have lasted in my precal class…
ANYway, this is just a little post to share my Christmas break goals, because I usually like to make a few, and I thought sharing them with y’all would make me more likely to follow through with them. Of course, I’ll be taking some time to chill out after such a stressful semester, but there is a lot I want to catch up on that school and work kept me away from.
For one, I definitely need to get my reading game on! I’m at 77 books out of 100 for my reading goal. I’m so close!! Now that I have a lot more time on my hands, I’ll be using it to do what I love: staying up all hours of the night reading! Aside from that, I also would like to get back into gaming, and perhaps making games. Though I’m majoring in computer science, my end goal is to make video games, so I’d like to buff up my portfolio. I’ve got a couple interactive story games in mind, so now that I’ve got some coding and animating skills under my belt, I’d like to get to work on them!
A really big goal I have is to get better at driving. Driving in San Antonio is like driving on Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road (am I right???), so I’ve always been hesitant to drive. However, I’m going to take a lot of time to get better at it and get over my fear of driving!
Then there’s my poor WIP, which I’ve neglected the last couple weeks due to being overloaded with school assignments. I’m moving on to the 5th draft on the first book, and I’m currently planning out the sequel. I would like to be done with the 5th draft before school starts for the spring semester and I want to practice writing query letters. I’m close to trying to get it published, so I want to get a move on things! I also want to work on some other ideas I’ve gotten, and some old ones I need to get back to. Not to mention my short story for this blog, Divine Heist! I would like to have that ready for release by February at the latest, but we’ll see!
I think that’s pretty much it! I’ve been looking forward to this break for a while now, so I’m glad it’s finally here! While it’s nice that I also get a break from work (I’m a college tutor, so when the school closes, the tutoring lab goes with it), I am a little worried about not getting paid for a while since I’m trying to save up for UTSA. I’m sure next semester will be here before I know it, though… But anyway, what about you guys? Do you have any goals you want to complete by the end of the year? Let me know in the comments below!
And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful weekend!
