Hey guys! Christmas will be here before we know it, and that means it’s time to stop dropping hints to your friends and family of what you’d like to see under the tree! There are a lot of games that are coming out, and many more are being announced all the time. In this list, I’m going to be talking about the best games for you to ask for Christmas, or for you to perhaps gift yourself? Let’s get to it!
Octopath Traveler II
When I saw the trailer for this, I knew that I would be getting it the instant it released! I love playing Octopath Traveler, but I have a feeling I might love this sequel even more. This is a beautiful series with not only a unique design, but it also has a unique gameplay method! In the first Octopath Traveler, there are eight characters to choose from, and they each have their own stories. You can play with them all at once, or one at a time. I’m assuming this sequel will be the same. The trailer makes me hyped for this game, especially with the inclusion of a old west-style storyline being brought in. Check out the trailer below!
Stray
Stray is a brand new Indie game that actually became a nominee for Game of the Year alongside some A-list titles, like Elden Ring and God of War: Ragnarök. This isn’t the first time an Indie game reached this accomplishment, but it is always special to see it happen! Stray has you play as a cat. As usually in many games, things are out to get you, so you have to do your best to survive and make your way home. The animation is so pretty! I haven’t gotten around to playing it yet, but once Christmas break comes around I’m going to do some catching up on these new games. See the trailer below!
Crisis Core Reunion
This game will be releasing on the 13th, which is only a few more days away! Crises Core released many years ago for the PSP, so it’s about time we get a remaster. However…something tells me this won’t be a normal remaster. With everything going on in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, I’m wondering if they will add anything new into this one. We’ll see! In the meantime, you can see the newest trailer here!
Pentiment
Pentiment made quite a bit of noise when it released a couple weeks ago. Everyone seemed to be rushing to play this game, and reviews raving over it were everywhere. This game has an interesting plotline, and an even more interesting design. My interest was piqued when I realized that this was a mystery set in the medieval era. I always like reading medieval stuff, and I’m a big mystery genre fan, so of course this sounded like a game for me! I don’t know if I’ll ever get into it, do to the fact that I rarely play M rated games, but we’ll see. I have included the trailer here!
Elden Ring
If you haven’t heard of Elden Ring by now, I would be pretty surprised! Elden Ring was a long time coming, and it’s incredibly popular. It is a true RPG, created alongside the Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin, with creatures, magic, and a deep storyline that has everyone talking about it. I myself haven’t gotten into it yet, but it is definitely a game I’ve had my eye on. I have a feeling it’s probably going to win Game of the Year this Thursday at the 2022 Game Awards! See the trailer below!
There are a plethora of games to go around, but I thought I’d stick to these five. If not, we would have been here all night! Do any of these games look fun to you? Have you played any of them, or plan on playing them? Let me know in the comments below!
And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful weekend!
