Blogmas Day 2: The Christmas Vibe

Hey guys! This post is coming out a lot later than I wanted to, but it’s thankfully still Blogmas Day 2! Today has been an incredibly busy day, so I decided to talk about it for this post. Today wasn’t just any day- today I finally started to get that “Christmas vibe” and everything.

Not to say that I haven’t been in the Christmas spirit in November or anything (because I was a couple times), but it is hard to enjoy the holidays when you’re working and getting through school and all the other stuff that comes with being an adult. Ever since I’ve been in college, it’s been hard to “feel” like it’s Christmas, if that makes any sense. However, today gave me a little bit of that Christmas vibe I’ve been waiting for!

At work, my coworkers and I planned out a Christmas party we’re having next week, and we decided we’re going to do Secret Santa! If you don’t know what Secret Santa is, it’s basically where you draw names, and you have to get a gift for whoever you got. It’s a lot of fun, and I’m excited to see who I get! My coworkers and I are really close (we’re more like family), so I love working with them. Now that the semester is coming to a close, work will most likely be quiet, since students won’t have very many assignments (I help students with their papers), so we’ll have some time to hang out before we leave for the semester. I’m looking forward to some peace and quiet!

After work today, I had an office party for the officers at my school, and it was my last event as a Phi Theta Kappa officer. It was a little bittersweet knowing I wouldn’t be taking part in any more of those kinds of events, but I did have a good time! We had also been doing this thing where families can sign up to get donated gifts from the students for their children, so we spent some time wrapping those donated gifts. I’m not that great at wrapping gifts, so it was a bit tricky! Still, it was a lot of fun, and all the Christmas music and Christmas decorations made me get into the Christmas spirit!

Not only that, but I had been stressing throughout the week about a certain school project I had to get done, which was due tonight. I knew I had the party to go to, and I wasn’t that close to getting the project done (it was a large program), but I was doing my best! My professor was helping me a lot, and all of a sudden he emailed me to let me know he was giving me full credit on the assignment just because I put effort into it. That was a wonderful early Christmas present, because that took a lot of stress away! That being said, I was even able to go to my brother’s basketball game (which he won), and that made me happy since I rarely make it to his games.

Anyway, that’s enough talk from me! I hope you enjoyed this little post! But what about you guys? Are you in the Christmas spirit yet? Let me know in the comments below!

And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful weekend!
