Hey guys! For this month’s top ten, I’m going to stick with the little Manifest theme I’ve got going on for November! As you can tell by the title, I’m going to be counting down my top ten favorite Manifest episodes! Originally, I was going to put this out at the beginning of the month. Actually, this time I didn’t do a late post because I was busy! The reason it’s late this time is because I thought it would be weird to do it when season 4 had just released and I hadn’t watched them all yet. I mean, what if there were S4 episodes I ended up loving? Which is pretty ironic considering that as I was going through season 4, I kept thinking to myself that I wasn’t sure any of the episodes would make it onto this list. They were amazing, but what if they could beat the last three seasons? However, after thinking about it, maybe a couple might make it up there… Let’s see!
10. Season 4 Episode 8: Squawk
Aaand right off the bat we have a season 4 episode, haha! Honestly I wasn’t sure whether I was going to include this one or not, but the more I thought about it, the more I remembered how much I liked this one. This one was a crazy ride, and it was just one thing after another (like the other season 4 episodes…). So much went down, with plenty of twists to go with it. I won’t spoil anything since it’s a little bit early to be doing that, but I’ll just say that this one had me shocked there at the end. If you’ve seen the episode, you know what I’m talking about! I’ve only seen this one once, so I would like to go back and watch it now that I know what happens in it, so maybe this time I’ll be less stressed, haha!
9. Season 2 Episode 9: Airplane Bottles
Back before I started watching this show, my sister would tell me everything that was happening in it (if you read my throwback from the beginning of the month, then you know my sister and I will tell each other about the books and shows we’ve been into). I vividly remember her telling me about this. In fact, it helped me decide I wanted to watch the show for myself since it sounded so cool. This episode is CRAZY. And since it’s bac in season 2, I think it’s all right if I talk about it a little. The whole sailboat Calling (Callings are the visions the 828 passengers get) was really trippy, but it was an awesome concept. Then there was the storm that wasn’t really there, and the whole white dragon thing. A lot of stuff went on! I don’t really know how I feel about this episode being so far down on the list, but I think I’ll leave it here for now.
8. Season 2 Episode 7: Emergency Exit
Right away this was one of my favorite episodes. It was ominous, but fun at the same time! I remember binging season 2 and being shocked at how good this one was when I got to it. I believe this is also the episode where my favorite character, Zeke, started showing signs of his approaching Death Date (the day they’re supposed to die). So this episode had a lot of bad things happening in it paired with that and the whole thing with the nightclub being burned down with those passengers still inside. As usual, chaos reigned!
7. Season 3 Episode 12: Mayday (P1 & P2)
I debated putting these up there, but I really did like the season 3 finale, even though it showed the death of a major character (RIP Grace). It took me forever to get through season 3, but I remember watching these episodes and wondering how we got to this point with all this bad stuff happening. Turns out it was just the set-up for season 4, because even worse things happened there! These characters just can’t catch a break! This episode also had the first appearance as older Cal (played by Ty Doran), so that was a huge plot twist (and probably the best decision they made, because I love Ty as Cal). Not to mention that the show got canceled by NBC and this would have been the end! What a horrible cliff hanger that would have been! I’m really glad Netflix picked the show back up, because that would have been horrible to have to live with all those 828 questions…
6.-5. Season 2 Episode 12: Call Sign – Season 2 Episode 13: Icing Conditions
I decided to squeeze 5 and 6 together since, in my mind, they’re basically the same episode (though they’ll still be counted as 5 and 6). I’ve probably watched these episodes the most since they’re soooo good (and sad). And now that I’ve seen the season 4 midseason finale, they’re much sadder than they originally were thanks to *that* character death. I thought we were in the clear, but I guess not! Anyways, these episodes included the marriage of my OTP (aka Zeke and Michaela), the abduction of Cal, and Zeke surviving his Death Date. Lots of strange stuff happened that I still feel like I don’t understand (though I’m starting to). I actually watched these out in a very public place and found out that was a bad idea, because I’m a crier…and these make me cry. Oh well!
4. Season 1 Episode 16: Estimated Time of Arrival
This episode almost made it as my number one favorite, but somehow it made its way down to 4th place. Not sure how I feel about that! Anyways, this is the season 1 finale, and the episode where the character find out the day they’re going to die; the same about of time the plane disappeared (five and a half years) happens to be the amount of time they have left to live. So that was a crusher for them, especially since they literally just came back. They find this out after a criminal ends up dying and coming back three days later, only to die again three days later. There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the Death Date, especially considering that Zeke is the only character who has been able to survive his. At first, it seemed like he survived because he redeemed himself for past mistakes, but now I’m not too sure about that. Maybe that’s still the case, but I don’t know… Anyway, the end of this episode is a giant cliff hanger, so I was glad to have the next episode ready to go, since I was late to the party! And, of course, my sister told me what happened, so I already knew what really happened at the end by the time I watched it. For once, spoilers were okay!
3. Season 1 Episode 13: Cleared for Approach
I have a lot of nostalgia attached to this episode, but I’m not entirely sure why. I almost put the episode before it here, but I decided to go with this one because I feel it had more of the vibe I like. In this episode, my OTP (Zeke and Michaela) got to know each other, since they had just met in the episode before this one. Zeke had been missing for a year, and it turned out he died and came back to life just like the 828 passengers. He was the first person the 828ers met who was like them. We got some sad Zeke backstory along with it, so it was an emotional episode all around. But still, it’s one of my favorites!
2. Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot
Of course the very first episode has to be on this list! Usually, I’m never that fond of first episodes in TV shows, since it’s the set-up and everything. However, I thought this episode was awesome! I remember watching it for the first time, because I finally wanted to see what it was all about after my sister told me so much about it. I was not disappointed! Oh boy, I had no clue what I was getting myself into! It quickly became my favorite TV show, and it has stood on that pedestal for a year now. Every time I watch a TV show I really like, I always think I’ll never find a better show. Usually I do, but this time…I’m not so sure!
1. Season 4 Episode 7: Romeo
Here’s another season 4 episode, in first place no less! But y’all, I loved this episode so much! Even though it ended on a terrible note, the stuff with Cal was so adorable! I can’t remember a lot of the stuff that went down in season 4, including in this episode, since so much stuff was crammed in, but the scenes with Cal were so well done that it’s kind of hard to forget them. Also, the middle was like, the only time Cal was actually happy, so yeah. I won’t say much more since it’s still a little too early to be spoiling season 4. But just know that this episode is so great, and it was made better by the fact that Josh Dallas, who plays Ben Stone in the show, was able to direct it himself!
I thought I’d never get this post done… Unfortunately, I came down with what is either really bad allergies, or the flu. I didn’t really feel like doing much of anything, but I made myself get this post done, because I’m already behind with other posts! I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about this list, because I feel like it might change pretty much every day. But for today, this is the most accurate, I think! Anyways, if you’ve watched Manifest, let me know what your favorite episodes are! And if you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it!
As always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful evening!
