Hey guys! It’s time for the first quote of November, and a quote that doesn’t have to be spooky! However… I might have to do another spooky quote, because I’ve been reading Edgar Allan Poe lately, and man! There are so many of his lines that really make you stop and think about things. I know I did a Poe quote last week, but bear with me! This man is one of my favorite authors! Let’s check out another quote from him:
“Even with the utterly lost, to whom life and death are equally jests, there are matters of which no jest can be made.” – The Masque of Red Death (Edgar Allan Poe)
As you can tell, I was reading The Masque of Red Death last night for the first time, and this quote just jumped right out at me (among other ones). This short story is just crazy, and definitely one of his creepier stories. If you haven’t read it, it’s basically about this spoiled prince who hides in his heavily fortified castle with all these people to escape the Red Death, which is killing his people. He thought he could escape death- until Death comes to him. This quote is said when Death comes for him, and it is just chilling. I highly recommend giving this a read, if you don’t mind creepy things, haha!
What do you think about this quote? Let me know in the comments below! And I promise I won’t do a spooky quote next week…
As always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
