Hey guys! Today will be my last spooky quote of the year, and it took me a hot minute to pick out the perfect one. After some searching, I decided that the only source would be from one of the greatest classical horror writers, Edgar Allan Poe. I did a quote from The Raven at the beginning of the month, so perhaps it’s appropriate to end the month with one, too! Take a look!
“I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.” – Edgar Allan Poe
Writers are sometimes referred to as “insane” at times, and honestly, It’s hard to imagine they can be completely sane with everything that goes into writing. However, Edgar Allan Poe truly was mad. I mean you can clearly tell that by reading his work! He had a pretty strange life that had to have contributed a great deal to his mental health, and he used a lot of events he had seen in his work (such as The Raven). While his work is creepy, and downright terrifying at times, I believe they are examples of horror at its highest form.
What do you think about this quote? Let me know in the comments below! And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
