Princess Geek Reads: Never Have I Ever – Bookworm Edition

Hey guys! Today I’ll be playing a little game, as you can tell by the title! In this post, there will be a series of “never have I ever”s, and I am going to answer them to the best of my ability! I haven’t really looked at all of the questions at the time of writing my introduction, but I just have this feeling that I will probably answer “I have” to most of them…maybe. I’m a bookworm, and I do very bookwormish (I just created a new word??) things! We shall see! This sounds fun, so let’s get started!

1. Dropped a book on your face while reading

I don’t THINK this has ever happened to me before. But it has with my phone, haha!

2. Hid a book you were reading

I don’t believe I’ve ever done this. Why would I need to hide a book? Dunno!

3. Lied about what you’re reading

Definitely not, I’ve never had a reason to, haha!

4. Read 50 Shades of Gray more than once

I’ve never even read it (and I don’t plan on reading it), so that’s a no, haha!

5. DNF a book

Absolutely! I used to be the kind of person who HAD to finish everything I started reading, but recently I realized doing that puts me in a reading slump. If what I’m reading just isn’t doing it for me, I’ll either put it down for a while or DNF it.

6. Dreamed of a book boyfriend

I’m going to go with a “no” for this one, because I can’t remember a time that I did.

7. Complained about a book turned movie

Of course! I am a big advocate for movie adaptations to being as close to the books as possible. I didn’t have to watch A Wrinkle In Time to know they heavily deviated from the book. That movie is an absolute crime and needs to be redone…

8. Said the book was better

Obviously the book is always better, except for some very very very rare occasions.

9. Went over your book budget

Probably… all right, yes, I most likely have…

10. Claimed a book boyfriend

I’m not all that big on fictional crushes, so I’ve never really “claimed” a book boyfriend before. But hey, James Aldridge from Lovely War (Julie Berry) is a blessing to humanity! *cries*

11. Cried while reading

You know me…you know the answer is yes. Lovely War by Julie Berry, Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman, Seasons of the Storm by Elle Cosimano… these and more made me ugly cry.

12. Made someone read your favorite book

Not really. When I read The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, one of my best friends was already reading it with me, so I didn’t have to do that, haha! However, I made my sister read Lovely War so she, too, could be traumatized for life.

13. Followed your favorite author online

14. Fangirled over an author

I don’t think so?

15. Waited up for a book to hit your kindle

I don’t own a kindle, so nope!

16. Pulled out your kindle at a party

Not a kindle, but an actual book…

17. Gone to a book signing

Funny but sad story time: in my senior year of high school I took a programming class that was in the evenings. Unfortunately, I found out that freaking Neal Shusterman was coming to a Barnes and Noble near me at the very same time as my class. *activate rage mode* Anyway, I ended up going to my class, but one of my best friends (the very one I mentioned above) went and got me a signed copy of Scythe from him, so that made up for me not going. But still…I have never gone to a book signing.

18. Joined a book club

I am actually the president of my college’s book club, so yep!

19. Laughed out loud at a book

Yep! Percy Jackson always brought out the laughs, haha!

20. Got an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy)

Yes, actually! In high school I used to review books for this publishing company, and they would send me ARCs. It was a fun job!

21. Read a taboo trope

I don’t know what this means, so I don’t know?

22. Missed a meal so you could read

I miss meals all the time, sometimes I am reading during that time, so yes.

23. Waited in your car to read

I’ve waited in my car and read, but I’ve never waited in the car TO read. I don’t think I have, at least.

24. Listen to an audiobook

Of course! I listened to the entire Mistborn Trilogy.

25. Messaged an author online

Definitely not.

26. Took a selfie with an author

27. Met a book model

I’m assuming this means like, a book cover model. So no.

28. Traveled for a book event

Sadly, no, but I would LOVE to go to the Dragonsteel convention in November.

29) Watched Passionflix

No, and I never will. It sounds like a nightmare of terrible adaptations. Maybe I’m wrong, but me and the world of mass paperback romances don’t get along, haha!

30. Swooned over a book character

Yes… It’s hard not to sometimes…

31. Wished to live in a book

Yes, even though sometimes those books would be terrible worlds to live in.

32. Smelled a new book

Duh! How can you NOT smell a book?

33. Wanted to live at a library

Yes, doesn’t every bookworm at some point?

34. Hated a character in a book

Absolutely, and the characters I hate, I hate them loudly so that my family will know.

35. Threatened to go “Misery” on an author

If Throne of Glass doesn’t go the way I want it to, then maybe… JK! I would never do this, this is terrible!

36. Hugged or kissed a book

That’s all! I actually said “I haven’t” to more of these than I thought. These were some interesting questions, and I enjoyed answering them! If you want to do this for yourself, then by all means, go for it! I got these questions from ABYSSALLIBRARIAN, so go check them out. And if you answer these for yourself, let me know! I’d love to see your answers!

As always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
