New Short Story Reveal!

Hey guys! I thought I would go ahead and reveal my new short story, as the title says. It won’t be released for a while, but I wanted to give y’all something to look forward to, haha! Seeing as I would like to do weekly releases instead of twice a month, I want to have a backlog of chapters, especially since I’ll be in a university next year and who knows how my schedule will change.

I don’t have everything worked out (but then again, when do I with these short stories??), but I can share some plot details and a synopsis! I’m really excited about this one and I can already tell it’s going to be a crazy ride. First off, let’s take a look at that title, which you would have already seen if you read my Sneak Preview post! My third short story will be known as…

Divine Heist

So what will this be all about? Well, let’s start at the beginning. When I first started working at my job as an English tutor, I had to do some online trainings. Also, for the last couple months, I had felt a new idea brewing in my mind, but I wasn’t sure what to do with it. I’m a big fan of Greek Mythology, and I wanted to do something with that. But what’s something new that no one has done before? The idea finally hit me while I was doing my cyber security training for my job: what if the Greek gods had to pull off a heist?

It all started building from that! So here is the synopsis:

When Hermes falls from Zeus’ good graces, he takes a gamble on a dangerous deal: become human and pull off an impossible heist to become king of Olympus for a millennium, or fail and become trapped as a human indefinitely. The catch? He has to become mortal in order to fit in with the human world. But he has help, as there are others who wish to see Zeus taken down a few notches…

I can’t tell you how excited I am to write this! As I said, I love Greek Mythology, and I LOVE heist stories, so it made sense to squish those two together! But why make Hermes the protagonist? It’s something you don’t see all that often! Hermes is my favorite character in Greek Mythology, and I knew right away I wanted to do something with him as the main character. Plus, he’s the god of trickery and mischief, so of course he would be the man to pull off a heist! As for who else will be on his team…well, you’ll have to wait and see!

So what is the release date looking like? You probably won’t see the first chapter drop until January 7th 2023. If that changes, I will definitely say so, but I will be sticking with this for now! As I said, I’m going to take the next few months to create a backlog of chapters.

I will most likely be giving updates on it in my Writing Updates posts throughout the rest of the year (I might reveal the cover art ahead of time as well), so keep an eye out for that! In the meantime, leave a comment on your thoughts about this story! Are you looking forward to it? Think this might be boring? Let me know!

As always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
