Weekly Dose of Scripture 8/1/22

Hey guys! I’m a day late…again. But I kinda figured this would happen, because I’m not really expecting August to be that structured. If you read my Sneak Preview post, then you know big things are coming to I’d Rather Be Geeking. That being said, August will be my month to prepare for all of that, so there’s probably going to be less activity on here for a while. But that’s okay! I promise I’ll make up for it come this September (hopefully). Anyway, let’s get to today’s verse!

Pray without ceasing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

I don’t know about y’all, but I am terrible at praying. For a long time, I thought there were specific instructions as to how I were to approach God, or else He would not listen to me. Because of this, I began to dread my prayer time. I had cut out a specific time of day to pray, and as it would approach, I would begin to think, “I really don’t feel like doing this right now”, because I always ended up speaking the same long-winded prayer every time. These days, I’m learning that God will hear me no matter how, when, or where I pray. In fact, even saying something as simple as “God, I really need you” could be a prayer I could say in the middle of the day when I need to rely on His strength to get by. He is with me all the time, so it makes sense that He will hear me all the time. It is only recently that this verse made sense to me, and I am glad to know God hears me when I speak to Him!

I hope this encourages you to pray without ceasing! God will hear you!

God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
