Good news! This post marks my 100th post of the year! I don’t think I have ever gotten that much in just the first half of the year, so I’m pretty happy with that number. Actually, the other day I reached 500 posts as a whole on my blog! It feels like I’ve been doing this forever, so I guess it wasn’t too much of a surprise, haha! Anyway, for this week’s quote, I decided to go with one to honor a video game which turned 25 this year, and will also be featured in a livestream this week…
“I’ll be going now. I’ll come back when it’s all over.” – Aerith Gainsborough (Final Fantasy 7)
Now that I’ve played the Remake, this quote takes on a whole new meaning for me. These are some of Aerith’s last words before she dies, and considering that she knew she was going to die soon, they’re pretty interesting! She most likely meant she would return as a part of the Lifestream to destroy Meteor, but this quote does make me think about the Remake, and the theory that Aerith traveled back in time. It’s a little far fetched that Square Enix would be planning this all along, even back in 1997, though. Regardless, this is a sad quote when you know the context it’s in, but a great one all the same.
Also, as I mentioned, Square Enix will be holding a livestream on Thursday, June 16th, at 6PM ET. I would be shocked if they didn’t talk about Remake Part II, so if you’ve been waiting for updates in that department, definitely tune in! I’ll also post about whatever was discussed afterwards as well.
What do you think about this quote? Let me know in the comments below! And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
