Weekly Dose of Scripture 6/12/22

Hey guys! I hope y’all are having a wonderful Sunday! I really wasn’t sure what would be best for this week’s verse, so it took some thinking. I decided to take a look at something that I’ve been working on in my own life and see what kind of verses could apply to that. So without further ado, let’s take a look at this verse of the week!

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12

Recently, I changed the way I did my devotions/Bible time, because the way I had been doing it just wasn’t working for me, and I often felt like I was just checking things off the I’m-A-Christian list. You know what I mean! Reading the Word and praying and all of that should NEVER become items on a checklist. As you can see from the verse above, reading God’s Word is extremely important. It is our instruction manual on life! It provides comfort when we’re heartbroken, answers when we’re lost, and rest when we’re tired. It tells us exactly how we are to live and how we can get to Heaven. Everything we need to know is in the Bible!

I’m happy to say that since I’ve changed the way I do my Bible time, I’m not only putting it as a top priority and spending more time in His Word and prayer, but I am also looking forward to it and it is no longer just another thing to scratch off my I’m-A-Christian to-do list!

I hope this encourages you to really get proactive about reading God’s Word and spending time in His presence. I guarantee it’ll change your life!

As always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
