Quote of the Week 1/18/22

Hey guys! I’m back with another quote, and once again, this one will be a Kingdom Hearts quote! In case you didn’t catch last week’s quote, I will be doing a Kingdom Hearts quote every week up until the 20th anniversary, which will be on March 28th! I’m so excited to share all the stuff I’ll be doing that month with you guys! Anyway, let’s get to this week’s quote!

“I’m sorry, Ventus. I know it wasn’t your fault. I just needed someone to blame. Darkness is so…abstract. My anger needed a simple, tangible target. Selfish of me, I know. But some emotions are too much to bear. Tell me. Is darkness really gone? Or has it become a part of you, just like you said?” – Lauriam (Kingdom Hearts: Union X)

I can’t remember if I’ve ever done a quote from Union X before, though I probably did at some point! Even so, I thought this quote from Lauriam was the perfect one to put the spotlight on! Lauriam is actually Marluxia’s Somebody (for those of you who don’t know what a Somebody is, when a character loses their heart (the in-game version of a soul), they split into a Heartless and a Nobody, and the original person is known as the Somebody). Anyway, Lauriam’s little sister, Strelitzia, was killed by Ventus, who was being controlled by darkness. This was actually a major mystery for the longest time, and when it finally revealed that Ven was the killer, I was certainly surprised, though I did see it coming a little. Ven was the least likely suspect, but once it was clear he did it, it made perfect sense. When Lauriam found out, he took his anger out on Ven even though it wasn’t entirely his fault. After a battle with Darkness, and Ven is left unconscious, Lauriam apologizes to him.

What do you think about this quote? Let me know in the comments below! And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
