Hey guys! Today will be the first quote of the year, and surprisingly, it was not hard to come up with the perfect quote to start off things right! A lot of times on New Year’s Eve, people will turn on movies at just the right time so that a certain part of the movie will play at midnight. For example, if you turn on A New Hope at a certain time, the Death Star will blow up right as January 1st hits! There’s a lot of movies to do this, and it is pretty fun! We actually did it for the first time, using A New Hope to bring in the 2022. Another version of this is Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and I’ll be using the New Year’s moment for today’s quote…

“So it begins.” – King Theoden (Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers)

Short and simple, but it’s a great part in the movie! I’m not exactly sure what the exact timing is for when you have to turn the movie on for Theoden to say this right at midnight on January 1st, but maybe I’ll try it sometime. Anyway, I thought it would be funny to use a quote from the tradition of “ringing in the new year with a movie” as the very first quote of 2022!
