Hey guys! It’s hard to believe that Christmas is after tomorrow! I was thinking a lot about what I could do for the last couple days, and for Blogmas day twenty-three, I decided to do a little get-to-know-me questionnaire! There’s a total of twenty-five questions (for the twenty-five days of Blogmas!), so let’s get into it!

1. Do you have any hobbies?

Of course! blogging is one of my hobbies, since I don’t get paid for it. I also love writing, piano, and gaming! I spend the most time writing these days since school took away a lot of my gaming time…*cries*

2. When and why did you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging back in February of 2017. Originally I wanted to start a YouTube channel. I was really into Star Wars at the time, so I wanted to do some Star Wars content. I decided I was a little young for YouTube and started a blog instead, which was called Old Jho’s Pit Stop (named after a place in Star Wars). As I got older, I changed the blog to what it is today and broadened my content. I’ve really been enjoying it!

3. How long have you been blogging?

As I said, I started in 2017, so I’ve been doing this for almost five years!

4. What is your #1 blogging tip?

Post often! The more content you have, the more people will want to follow you! If you only post a couple times a month, people will start to forget you exist. Of course, if you don’t mind not having a lot of traffic, you can post however many times you want!

5. What was your first job?

My first “job” was when I was in high school and I wrote reviews for a site called Radiant Lit, but I didn’t get paid, so I wouldn’t consider than a real job I guess. It was good experience though! Other than that, I also started teaching piano in 2019.

6. What language would you love to learn?

I would love to learn Japanese!

7. Is there anything you wanted to do in your youth that you still haven’t done?

I’m still in my youth, but I’m going to assume this is talking about something in my childhood/early teen years. I always wanted to go to Disneyland, but yeah that never happened.

8. What is your biggest regret in life?

Ok, so now we’re getting deeper, haha! I’ll probably say that my biggest regret in life is that I didn’t open up to people more and I let my mental health get pretty bad before I actually started to try and do something with myself. But that’s a story for another time!

9. Which is your favorite decade and why?

I’ve only lived in two decades, so I’m going to assume this is meaning in any point in history. If I could time travel to the 1980s, I would. I’ve been told I was born in the wrong decade, and that the 80s would have fit me more, and I have to agree. I’m a big fan of that decade, and I grew up watching 80s cartoons, listening to 80s music, and playing 80s games. So yeah, that’s my favorite decade!

10. What is your favorite childhood memory?

There’s too many to choose! However, I might have to go with one of my dearest memories than I never want to forget. When I was really little, my dad used to bring home games when he’d get back from work. When I was six or seven, he brought home Kingdom Hearts 2. We waited until everyone went to bed, then the two of us stayed up and played it. It was a big deal to stay up past my bedtime, and that was my first KH experience, so it’s one of my favorite memories!

11. Do you have any irrational fears?

Plenty! I’ll do this one because it’s funny. So a long time ago when I was really little, I was doing my school at the kitchen table (I was homeschooled). All of a sudden, there’s this extremely loud popping sound, and then glass crashing. It turned out that one of the lightbulbs in then ceiling fan shot out and exploded in the floor. Ever since then, I’ve always been worried that’ll happen when I’m laying in my bed, since there’s a lightbulb in my ceiling fan aiming right at me…

12. Is there anything you can’t live without?

My faith in God for sure!

13. What is your favorite TV show?

I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I do love Voltron: Legendary Defender. Also, my sister has me watching a show called Manifest, and that’s been a really good one!

14. What is your favorite cereal?

Ummmmmm Lucky Charms? That’s a hard question, haha!

15. What is something you’ve done recently that you’re proud of?

Well, I recently completed everything I needed to do for this Professional Development Certificate that my school gives away. I applied for it, so I’m hoping to be approved to accept it!

16. Describe yourself in three words.

Ok, here goes nothing: “hardworking”, “compassionate”, and “weird”. I don’t know if that’s how other people would describe me, but that’s how I see myself!

17. If you had a gift card to any store, what would you want it to be?

Barnes and Noble, of course!

18. How would you describe your style?

Um, hoodie and jeans? I don’t really have a style!

19. What quote inspires you?

There’s a lot of quotes I say to myself at certain times, but when I really need inspiration/encouragment, I tell myself “It’ll be hard”. It doesn’t mean much at first glance, but let me explain. In the Kingdom Hearts 3 opening song, “Face My Fears”, there’s a part in the middle that I believe is spoken in Japanese. I haven’t really been able to find a correct translation of it, and people say different things for it, but once I saw someone say it can be roughly translated to “it’ll be hard”. So what that line means to me, in the context of the song, is that it’ll be hard to face my fears, but that doesn’t mean I can’t do it. So when I tell myself “it’ll be hard”, I’m telling myself, “yeah, I’ll have to put a lot of effort into it, but I can do it”. Weirdly enough, it’s been life changing.

20. What would you tell your 13 year old self?

To chill the heck out! I went through big changes when I turned thirteen. My uncle had recently passed away, and that was when I really started to develop anxiety and a bunch of other crap. I went through a period of time where I was bottling up everything I felt until I couldn’t handle it anymore. I’d tell my thirteen year old self that everything would work out in the end, and to open up to people more because it would have caused a lot less grief and stress.

21. What season is your favorite and why?

Fall, because school’s halfway over and my birthday is coming, and then that also means the holidays are almost upon us!

22. What’s your favorite accessory?

I’m going to go with my keyblade earrings, I wear them often. I got them for Christmas from my Grandma one year. She’s always giving me the best Kingdom Hearts merch.

23. What’s your favorite color?

Whatever this is

24. At what age did you start wearing makeup?

I got all of my first makeup stuff for my thirteenth birthday, so it was when I was thirteen.

25. How do you want to be remembered in life?

I want to be remembered as someone who cared about others and did everything in her power to make them feel loved. I want to make an impact on the lives of others and be someone who led people to Christ.
