Blogmas Day 19: Weekly Dose of Scripture 12/19/21

It’s my last Weekly Dose of Scripture post before Christmas! For Blogmas day 19, I’ve chosen yet another passage from the book of Luke. This one is quite popular, and probably one of my favorite verses in the Bible! Check it out!

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sing unto you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly, a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.” – Luke 2:9-14

The news that the angels brought to the shepherds was and is the greatest news ever brought to mankind. The shepherds were told that a Savior had been born. I wonder if the shepherds truly comprehended what this meant. Probably not! When they went to visit baby Jesus, they would have no way of knowing that one day Jesus would sacrifice Himself on the cross for their sins — for our sins! The news the angel brought to the shepherds has not aged; it is still wonderful today, and it will be in the future, too! Jesus came for us all, whether we are rich or poor, good or bad, He died for us and He loves us unconditionally. All we have to do is follow Him!

I hope this encouraged you to seek the Lord! God bless y’all and have a wonderful Christmas week!
