Hello! I’ve been trying to come up with new/unique ideas for Blogmas, and for day 16, I’ve decided to go with sharing some ways you can make a difference in the lives of other people this season! There’s a few on here I’ve done before, and others I still want to try out! Check out the list!
Toy Drives
My family usually takes part in toy drives since they’re pretty easy to do! For us, our church actually collects the toys, then they take them to hospitals to give out to the kids there. It may be different depending on who is doing the toy drive, though. For example, my college did a toy drive, but it was going to students who were single parents or who had children but were living on a low income. A toy drive is a really cool way to help others, because it gives gifts to children who wouldn’t get any otherwise! If you would like to take part in a toy drive, check out Toys for Tots!
Operation Christmas Child
This is something I really love doing! If you haven’t heard of Operation Christmas Child, you basically take a shoebox and fill it with items depending on the child’s age range. I tend to do mine for teenagers, and I fill them with things like a new toothbrush, soap, socks, etc.. Once it’s filled, you can leave it at a drop-off location, and Samaritan’s Purse will send out these boxes to developing countries. If you would like to take part in this, I think there’s still time! You can read more about it here!
Christmas Cards
A really cool way to spread Christmas to others is to make Christmas cards for those in nursing homes, or for deployed soldiers. You could even do ones for children who will be in the hospital over Christmas. When I was in high school I believe we made cards for children in Mexico in my Spanish class, and it was really cool!
Any of these would be a great way to help others find joy this season! Please let me know in the comments if any of you guys have ever done any of these, or if you plan to! I’d love to hear from you!
As always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
