Hey guys! For Blogmas day 12, I’ve got another Bible verse for you! Again, I’ve taken this from the book of Luke to continue with the theme of Christ being the reason for the season! I really love this one, because it details Christ’s humble entrance into the world. Check it out!
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. – Luke 2:7
When Jesus was born, there was no fanfare. There was only a stable, a few visitors, and a handful of barn animals. Instead of a cradle fit for the Son of God, Jesus was placed in a manger. You know, there are two things that I take from this. One, there is nothing on this earth that is fit for the Son of God anyway, so there was nothing that could have been done differently that would have been considered “good enough”. Yet, He still came! Second, this was just the beginning of the sacrifice that was given to us. Jesus became human so that He could rescue us from our sins, and the beginning of becoming a human was a humble birth. He did not have to do a single thing for us, since we are all sinners and unworthy of His favor, but He loved us so much that He was willing to humble Himself to rescue us!
I hope this is in your hearts this Christmas season! God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
