You guys, I was a nervous wreck this morning when Nintendo was about to reveal their final character for Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. I, along with the rest of the Kingdom Hearts fandom, wanted to see our boy Sora join the fight sooooo bad. We have been begging for him for a long time now, and it seems that Nintendo finally heard our cries, for the final Smash character is…

SORA!

Y’all, I was in my campus library when I was watching this, and it was all I could do to not jump up and announce to the whole building that my boy Sora is finally in Smash! There is so much to talk about, so let’s get to my thoughts on this.

Obviously I’m SUPER hyped to see Sora in Smash, but I am absolutely in love with his design! I love that they gave him a softer, more cartoonish design. He looks great! Not to mention that they also gave him designs for not only Kingdom Hearts, but also KH2, KH 3D, KH3, and Timeless River (KH2). He also has the designs for Wisdom Form and Ultimate Form, and I love the looks of them a lot!

I could not believe how over-powered Sora looks in this, and y’all, I feel like proud mother. Here’s Sora swinging his keyblade with the best of the fighters. I found his mechanics to be really interesting, and I love his ultimate ability and the animation that happens if he wins that’s a throwback to the actual KH games.

And these new stages, they are gorgeous! I’m so glad they chose Hollow Bastian, and I really love the addition of the Dive into the Heart stages as well. However, I found it strange that they gave everyone a Dive except Kairi.

Anyway, that is not the only thing that went down today. minutes after Nintendo ended their showcase, Square Enix jumped in to get Kingdom Hearts’ 20th anniversary party started! Take a look at this trailer…

Yes, we are getting all of the Kingdom Hearts games on the Nintendo Switch! Unfortunately, it will only be the cloud versions, and I’ve seen more than a few people disappointed by that. But hey, it’s a start!

I believe Union X being available on Theater Mode was already known, but it was new news that Dark Road will be releasing in full this winter. Originally Dark Road was meant to come at the end of September, but it was unfortunately delayed. I really hope winter will be when it finally releases!

Lastly, I can’t wait for that chess board, because I have been wanting that for a while now!
