Princess Geek Travels: Day 1 of Colorado Trip (New Series!)

Hey guys! As you can see from the title, I’m doing something new! On this blog, I like to reach a wide variety of audiences, and now I’m including documentations of any trips I go on! Of course, I don’t do much traveling now that I’m in college, but I still thought this would be a fun thing to do!

This week my family is going on vacation to Dillon, Colorado, and we’ve divided up the driving days in order to see some sights along the way! Today was day one of driving, and we stopped by Palo Duro Canyon! It was so pretty there, and despite being over 90 degrees, there was actually a really nice breeze so the weather wasn’t that bad. I have some pictures below! I’m no photographer though, so they’re obviously not professional, haha!

Palo Duro Canyon

The Palo Duro Canyon is sometimes called the “Grand Canyon of Texas”. However, it’s no where near as large as the actual Grand Canyon. Seeing this was pretty spectacular, so I can’t imagine what it must be like to stand by the Grand Canyon!

There were some paths that went through the canyon, and some roads, too. We drove through some of them, and it was great!

Some parts of the canyon are much deeper than others, and the deepest parts are about 800 feet! It would be cool to actually do some hiking through it. Maybe I’ll come back someday to do that!

There was also a little souvenir shop there which had some cool exhibits as well! It was neat since it was some stuff I had been learning about in the Texas History course I took this summer!

That’s a few of the pictures I took! It was pretty neat to see all of that, and it only made me want to go check out the Grand Canyon even more! I’m excited for what other sights we’ll be seeing on this trip as well, and I’ll be sure to share it with you guys!

God bless y’all, and have a wonderful week!
