Weekly Dose of Scripture 7/11/21

Hey guys! Man, I was doing so well with posting, and then suddenly; radio silence. It’s not really my goal to be posting daily, but I would like to post a few times a week. However, last week was a train wreck, and this week is going to be worse, and I’m hoping to get the next Unlikely Prince out this Saturday! I’ll have to see what happens though, because Saturday is a very big day for me (the reason why last week and this week will just have to be train wrecks…). Anyway, despite my immensely difficult schedule, I’ve been having a good time with life and I’ve been very blessed. For this week’s verse, I wanted to take a look at what it means to be in God’s family…

But when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. – Galatians 4:4-5

This was the highlight verse in my devotional today, and isn’t it amazing? When we are saved, we are adopted into God’s family; the Christian family. God is our Father, and other Christians are our brothers and sisters. Imagine this; you’re an orphan child with no home, no money, and no love. You’re dirty. Then a loving Father arrives and picks you up and makes you clean. That’s what it’s like being saved! Because God adopts us into His family, we are redeemed and we live under His laws, just like how an orphan child gets adopted and now lives under their new family’s laws! And being adopted by God is the best thing that could ever happen to us, because we have such a loving Father who fights for us and never leaves us.

I hope this encourages you today! We need to spread the word of God so that our Christian family grows; it is one of our responsibilities as Christians!

God bless you all, and have a wonderful week!
