Hey guys! I’m back with a recap of day two of E3 2021! Today was a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions when it comes to reveals, and once again, there is A TON to go over. In fact, as I write this, the Future Game Show is still going on, so I’m going to be doing some recapping as I watch it play out! Before we get into what games I’m looking forward to, let’s go over what events went on today…
Recap –
Xbox/Bethesda Games
Square Enix Showcase
Warner Bros
PC Gaming Show
Future Games Show
Lots of exciting things to go over! For my own highlights, I will be going over games from Bethesda, Square Enix, and, of course, the Future Games Show! Take a look!
Xbox/ Bethesda
Redfall
Forza Horizon 5
Age of Empires IV
Among Us
Far Cry 6
Halo Infinite
Battlefield 2042
Sea of Thieves: Pirates of the Caribbean Expansion
Twelve Minutes
Back 4 Blood
Stalker 2
Starfield
Xbox also announced ten games that would be coming to Xbox Game Pass, including the Indie title Hades, which I am super pumped for because that game looks so beautiful and I can’t wait to play it (I’m a Greek Mythology nerd…).
I am also excited for Forza Horison 5, which will take players to Mexico, which will be the biggest map the makers have done so far! It looks absolutely incredible! Check out the trailer!
Pretty much everyone in my family are Forza fans, so we’re all looking forward to this! Even better is that it will be releasing on Xbox Game Pass on day one, which will be November 9th!
Among Us is another thing I’m looking forward too, since we’ll be getting new colors and a larger lobby of 15 players! It will be coming to Xbox on June 15th!
Everything was looking pretty cool, even though we didn’t get any news on the future of Fallout.
Square Enix –
Guardians of the Galaxy
Black Panther: War for Wakanda
Babylon’s Fall
Final Fantasy 1-6 Remaster
Life is Strange: Remastered Collection
Life is Strange: True Colors
Legend of Mana Remaster
War of the Visions x Final Fantasy Collaboration
Nier Mobile Release
Hitman Sniper: The Shadows
Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin
I honestly don’t know whether to laugh or cry about this showcase… Obviously, I wasn’t keeping my hopes too high to hear something of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake or Kingdom Hearts, but there’s an, um…elephant in the room that has to be discussed…
First of all, Guardians of the Galaxy looks pretty good, though I’m seeing a lot of people who are hating the design. I think the game will be pretty neat! Although I haven’t gotten into the Avengers game, the Black Panther story expansion looks awesome!
I’m happy to see that the first six FF titles will be getting pixel remasters, and they will also be added to mobile devices! And the Legend of Mana Remaster looks SO PRETTY and I need it in my life!
But as for the elephant in the room… Here’s the deal. I was watching this showcase with my sister, and this trailer comes on at the very end for this game staring three dudes, one of which has a big sword.
“Square Enix and their big swords,” I said, then I turned away because the trailer was pretty lame, in my opinion. And I’m thinking, what the heck is this game?
Lo and behold, it’s the Final Fantasy Origins game I had been hearing so many rumors about. I literally didn’t even recognize it as an FF game until the title, Strangers of Paradise, appeared on screen, because of course I’d recognize that font from absolutely anywhere. So THAT’S why the big sword seemed so familiar…
I honestly don’t know what to think about this game, because it was totally not what I was expecting, but… I suppose we’ll see!

All of that, and that wasn’t even all of it! So I didn’t see a lot here that I was much interested in, and most the games shown were games I’d never play in a million years (like I said yesterday, I’m picky with what sort of content is in games, and graphic violence is a big no no for me). With that being said, I am interested in Rune Factory 5, though I’m not all that impressed with it. HOWEVER, I can’t wait for the Rune Factory 4 Special to arrive on Xbox, because I LOVE that game so much! I had literal flashbacks when they were showing the trailer!
Okay, so that is my recap for E3 2021 day 2! I told you I’d be more thorough than I was yesterday, so I hope I followed through with that! For tomorrow, I’m not really going to be watching anything since I’ll be trying to get as much school work done as possible so I can take a day off to watch Nintendo’s nearly 4 hour stream and the most anticipated game award show. Stay tuned for more recaps, and let me know in the comments what games you’re looking forward to!
God bless you all and have a wonderful week!
