Weekly Dose of Scripture

Hey guys! I have another great verse for you, and it’s on a topic that I’ve been having to learn in full this week! I will share more on a few things the Lord has been teaching me this week after we take a look at this amazing verse!

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I have hope in Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait on Him, to the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the Lord. – Lamentations 3:24-26

There is something that I have been waiting to happen to me for a very long time. All the waiting had built up into a lot of pain and questioning, since I couldn’t understand why God wasn’t allowing this thing to happen when it was happening to other people around me. Last week I ended up bringing this before the Lord in prayer, and He provided me with an answer; “Wait”. Of course I’m like, I HAVE been waiting! But there was more to this answer. He showed me how I wasn’t ready for this event that would be a very big life decision for me. I didn’t have the maturity or the self-control for it. I had never seen it before until He pointed these things out to me.

He also showed me that before I longed for anything else, I had to first long for a relationship with Him. When I think that I can find fulfillment on this earth, I have to realize that the Lord is my Shepherd, and I shall not want. Boy is it hard, but it’s worth it. I realized that if I didn’t wait on the Lord, the only thing that would await me could be some steep consequences that I wanted no part in. Waiting on the Lord and accepting that He is all you’ll ever need is of utmost importance to us all.

I hope this encourages you to wait on the Lord for whatever request you have been bringing to Him. Maybe He’ll say “yes”, maybe “no”, and He might even say “wait”. But one thing is for sure; His way is the best way!

God bless you all and have a wonderful week!
