I’m back with another quote of the week! This time I’m traveling to the world of writing for a quote, so I hope it helps to inspire you to do something that I have been working very hard at…
“To gain your own voice, you have to forget about having it heard.” – Allen Ginsberg (American poet)
Everyone always says to write for yourself. Well, that’s easier said than done. When I write, I think of everyone who will read it. My family, my friends. Lord willing, the world. It’s one most paralyzing fears that has ever come over me. It’s paralyzing enough to make me put my pencil down or shut my computer. My writing style was getting sloppy and all over the place. I wasn’t using my talents in full, because all I could think about was what others would say. But I realized that I have to stop this. I have to write like no one’s going to ever read it. I will be discussing this in a Writing Tips post I will be releasing soon, so stay tuned for that!
What do you think about this quote? Have any thoughts? Let me know in the comments below! God bless and have a wonderful week!
