The Game Awards 2020 Recap

As I’m sure a lot of you have heard, last night was a HUGE night for gaming. The 2020 Game Awards saw multiple winners, new trailers, and a bunch of announcements that has us gamers all hyped up and I could not be more excited about some of these surprises! First, I will be going over the new games that were announced as well as the big Smash Brothers: Ultimate announcement, then I will get to the winners of the game awards!

There were SO many games announced and showcased last night, and they look amazing! Take a look at the list!

I am so excited for some of these games, particularly Tchia, Shady Part of Me, Open Roads, and Season. Perfect Dark looks AMAZING, and It Takes Two looks like it’ll be a pretty cute game!

But now it’s time for that Smash announcement that has everyone flipping tables! Take a look at the trailer!

Sephiroth Joins The Fight!

When I heard they would be announcing a new Smash character at the game awards, I wanted it to be my boy Sora SO BAD. But heck, after this I wasn’t even disappointed it wasn’t him! Sephiroth was the LAST person I was expecting to join the game, he wasn’t even on my radar! This came completely out of nowhere and I’m sure my face was absolutely priceless when his theme started playing. I can tell a lot of care went into this trailer and I love the art at the end. Also, I’m a big fan of the conversation between Cloud and Sephiroth at the end, as it was my favorite in the FF7 movie Advent Children. Sephiroth is my all time favorite villain, so I’m super hyped for this!

Congratulations to all the winners! I was happy to see Among Us and the FF7 Remake win two awards each! In fact, the Remake was the first game to get an award last night! So happy for all the winners! We also got quite a few special guests, including Keanu Reaves, Gal Gadot, Christopher Nolan, Nolan North, Tom Holland, Stephen A. Smith, Brie Larson, Eddie Vedder, and Reggie Fils-Aime. The London Philharmonic Orchestra was also there, which was exciting!

So much happened in the span of four hours! What are your thoughts on the winners and announcements? Wish another game won Game of the Year? Let me know in the comments below!
