Weekly Dose of Scripture

Hey guys! I’m here with another verse, and I really needed it today so I hope it encourages you as well!

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. – Deuteronomy 31:6

Things have been pretty crazy this week, hasn’t it? It has been a trying time for a lot of us, and I’m starting to feel it this week. Being in a secular college as a Christian can be exhuasting sometimes, as I am subject to a lot of people who don’t have the same beliefs as I do. For the past few months, I haven’t seen much of it, but after the election it has been really draining, as everyone seems to be shoving their ungodly opinions down everyone’s throats. I am very blessed to have a few conservative friends in my classes, and I hold onto that. And even if I didn’t have them, the Lord is on my side, and I have to remember I’m not alone. This verse tells us not to be afraid or terrified because of “them”. To me, when it says “them”, I think it is talking about the people of the world. We don’t need to be afraid, because we know how the story ends. As God followers, we will forever be persecuted. But the Lord has everything in His hands!

Again, I hope this encourages you! Have a great week and God bless y’all!
