Hey guys! Gosh, this month has been soooo busy, and that means that I have good news and bad news regarding my short story The Card Dealer. As you know, I’ve been taking part in NaNoWriMo, and that along with getting my last year of High School and preparing for a huge piano recital for my graduation has just really worn me out. The good news is you will find out who the Card Dealer is in the next couple parts of The Card Dealer. The bad news is, I’m going on break with it until January. With the holidays upon us, school going on break (my school, at least), and NaNoWriMo coming to a close, I really need to take this month off, because I’m exhausted. All you people who keep up with The Card Dealer and follow me are amazing and I’m sooo grateful for ya’ll! You can expect big things for The Card Dealer in 2020! Now, enough with the blabbing, it’s time to get to the quote!…
“Here’s a fun little thought. The folks you’re about to see? You can fight them all you like.”
“What do you care? They’re only strangers. Actually, illusions of strangers. Just a collection of empty bits of data. They won’t be able to make the distinction between what’s real and what’s not. They’ll look at the white walls of this castle, and what they’ll see is are the worlds they call home. Anyway, the truth would be wasted on them, so why bother? They’re only there until they’re not. Do you see where I’m going with this? Nothing’s real. You can break the little hearts they don’t have, and then forget about it. No hurt feelings, no baggage. It’s that simple. You don’t have a heart. It’s 100 percent guilt free.”
“That’s what YOU think.”
“It’s obvious you know nothing at all. Everything you say is a lie. I might have the strength to hurt someone, but what exactly would be the point? I know…that it would tear me up inside. That ache…would stay with me for a long time. You might not know it now, but I hope you’ll see, that nothing is guilt free in this world.”
– Roxas and Sora (Kingdom Hearts: Coded)
I couldn’t help myself and I HAD to do another Coded quote. More importantly, I HAD to do this quote. I fell in love with the conversation the moment I heard it. Roxas’ story is dreadfully heartbreaking, and here we truly see what it has done to him. But Sora has a big heart for people, and we all now that he would never hurt someone he cared about. This isn’t even the only quote that proves how kindhearted Sora is. As he’s grown older, he’s become a little more understanding at how cruel the world can be no matter how kind you are. We’ve even seen a bit of angry Sora… One thing that’s I’ll always hope for is that Sora stays his innocent, sweet self…
Guys, I’m almost there! I refuse to write anything less than 50,000 words! As of now, I am up to 41,057 words! I’m super excited for the next few days as NaNoWriMo finishes up! I’m really close to finishes this book, so I’ll see what happens. I might even end up not finishing before the challenge is over! If that’s the case, I’m going to have to find new motivation…
How did you like today’s quote? Are you in NaNoWriMo? If so, tell me how you’re doing! I’d love to hear from you! As always, have a great day, and God bless.
Note: As I’ve said before, The Card Dealer will not be updating until January 4, 2020. You can expect for a ton of stuff to be revealed in the following parts!
