Quote of the Week 8/18/19

Another week, another quote!  This quote has been one of my favorites for the last eight years, and no matter how many times I read it, I always get the chills.  It also came from one of my most favorite games!  Give it a read real quick!…

“Tell me…Do you ever feel a strange sadness as dusk falls?  They say it’s the only time when our world intersects with theirs….The only time when we can feel the lingering regrets of spirits who left this world.  That’s why loneliness always pervades the hour of twilight.”                                                                                                                               – Rusl to Link (Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess)

I played Twilight Princess when I was ten years old, and it was my first Legend of Zelda game.  It was creepy and dark, but I liked it that way.  Nowadays, I play it in the dark just for the thrill of it.  But even though I’ve played a few other Zelda games, like Wind Waker and even Ocarina of Time, this one is still my favorite.  It’s got so many memories attached to it.  I always go back to play it over and over again, and I’m even reading the manga version, which is pretty awesome by the way!  This quote is one of the first ones spoken in the game, and that first sentence has stuck with me for a very long time.  This isn’t even the best quote in the game, so maybe I’ll do another Twilight Princess one another week.  Ten year old me found Twilight Princess to be a deep game, and I still think it is now.  It’s not as scary as I thought it was then, but it still gives me the creeps!  If you have not played this game, I HIGHLY recommend it, especially if you’re a Legend of Zelda fan!

What do you think about this week’s quote?  Have you played Twilight Princess?  If so, I’d love to hear from you!  Start up a conversation in the comments below!
