Ever since Star Wars Rebels: Twilight of the Apprentice released and ended with the highly anticipated Darth Vader and Ahsoka battle, there is one question that has been eating away at Star Wars fans’ minds; What happened to Ahsoka Tano? The last we saw of her, she was walking into the ruins of the Sith Temple on Malachor after the lightsaber battle with her old master. But where is she now? Is she even alive? There are a lot of theories that try to give these questions an answer. Let’s take a look at some of them.
Darth Vader Killed Ahsoka And She Has Taken The Form Of A Convor
Let’s start with the most complicated and popular one. Starting at the basics, a Convor (Convorees for plural) are owl looking creatures that have long tails and beautiful feathers that can come in a variety of colors. But what would these owls have to do with one of the most popular Star Wars characters ever? Well, in the Star Wars Rebels episode The Mystery of Chopper Base, things start to get interesting. At the very end of the episode, Ezra is lying on the ground looking up at the sky at none other than a Convor circling above him. Right then, as the Convor leaves, Ahsoka walks up to talk to Ezra. A few seconds later, we see the Convor perched above them, quietly watching the two jedi. But it doesn’t end there. In the next episode, the finale, we see that same Convor watching an injured Darth Vader leaving what is left of the Sith Temple, and then fly down ahead of what appears to be Ahsoka going down into the temple. Here is what Star Wars Rebels director Dave Filoni had to say about this Convor.
“In some ways, I could say that it’s a messenger, it’s an observer. It is definitely something. And I would suggest – I would rather let the fans debate – but I would suggest to say that whatever that thing is an avatar of has actually appeared in the animated Star Wars universe before.”
How…enlightening? There is another thing about these Convorees though. If you watch the Clone Wars, you may notice that when Ahsoka is going through character development, there is Convor watching her. Though, in the Clone Wars, it’s not always the same Convor. Now let’s get to the point. What if that Convor in Rebels is the Ahsoka’s spirit? This is where it gets complicated. Starting all the way back to The Clone Wars season three, there was an story arc centered around Anakin, Obi-Wan-Kenobi, and Ahsoka. IF you watched this arc, you might recall the woman from the Mortis planet who was simply called, The Daughter. Now The Daughter was an interesting character, but was unfortunately killed in the second episodes of the arc. But she wasn’t the only character that died. Right before this, none other than Ahsoka Tano was killed by The Daughter’s brother. Before The Daughter died, though, she gave what was left of her life to Ahsoka to revive her. So that means that after that episode Ahsoka wasn’t really, well, Ahsoka anymore. Ahsoka now has The Daughter’s spirit. Creepy, right? But what does this have to do with the Convorees? If you look at the Convor that follows Ahsoka around and then look at The Daughter, you might notice that their color schemes are very similar. So if Ahsoka died, her spirit has now taken the form of a Convor. Honestly, I don’t understand this theory. Obviously, Ahsoka’s fate has something to do with the Convor, but I don’t know about The Daughter. Guess we’ll see!
Darth Vader Killed Ahsoka And Now She’s A Wolf
So this one is similar to the Convor theory, except for it doesn’t involve The Daughter. In the Star Wars Rebels season 4 trailer, we saw some footage of a large wolf. The Star Wars Rebels director, Dave Filoni, is well known for his love for wolves, and he had actually tried to fit the into Star Wars before, but it never worked out. Until now, of course. The only problem for you if you choose this theory is that there is a good chance that this isn’t going to happen. A couple days ago, on Dave Filoni’s birthday, this theory was shot down. Dave Filoni said this on Twitter…
“It might be my birthday, but here is a gift, and perhaps a clarification, for you. May the Force be with you!”
Along with this, he posted a picture that he drew of Ahsoka standing with a wolf with Convor flying over her. Next to the Convor, it read “Owl”. Next to the wolf, it read “Wolf”. But when you got Ahsoka, it read “Not The Wolf”. Now, I don’t really believe anything Dave Filoni says until I see it happen, but this seems like solid information to me. But notice how he forgot to mention if Ahsoka was the Convor or not. Interesting…
Ahsoka Is Dead, But She Will Come Back As A Force Ghost
This is something I’d like to see happen. I mean, it’s obviously sad that she would have died, but still. She could come back as a ghost and guide Kanan and Ezra through the rest of the season. Maybe even haunt Darth Vader a little? This theory is my guess.
So there is three theories about what Ahsoka’s fate might be. We most likely won’t get a real answer until Rebels ends. What do you think happened to Ahsoka? Let me know in the comments.
